Miguel Palmeiro ’09 is busy, happy—and grateful. He credits his thriving practice, growing number of partners and the ability to give his clients a voice to his education at Maryland Carey Law, particularly the hours he spent as a member of its highly regarded National Trial Team.

And, so, he is giving back. The Law Office of Miguel Palmeiro, LLC recently committed $75,000 to the law school’s National Trial Team to ensure that a new generation of young lawyers learns to give their clients a voice.

“We are extremely grateful to The Law Office of Miguel Palmeiro,” said the team’s director A.J. Bellido de Luna ‘04, who noted that the gift would allow the law school to host an elite regional tournament of the National Trial Competition. “Competing in tournaments of that stature provides an unparalleled opportunity for our students,” Bellido de Luna said.

With a diverse legal team fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English, Palmeiro’s office, founded in 2009, handles cases ranging from personal injury and civil litigation to family law, immigration and criminal defense. “Our clients are our top priority,” Palmeiro said. “While we serve them, we hope to strengthen the communities in which we live and work.” In addition to the law school, the firm has supported animal rescue efforts, the Miss D.C. United States pageant, and other local charities. .
